Title: Chartered Accountant

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial reports such as financial statements including cash flow statements and budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. IFRS, GAAP, FASB), rules,  regulations, and systems of internal control.
  • Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
  • Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements,  and interpret new and existing legislation
  • Create and oversee the implementation of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)  manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation  procedures
  • Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review, and tax  filing
  • Play a vital part in the company’s financial management which includes all monthly and annual  account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties
  • Maintain and reconcile investment portfolios, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent  combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant.
  • Demonstrable understanding of IFRS; DipIFRS is a strong advantage
  • Proven experience of 5 – 7 years in accounting/finance with Big 4 firms is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software).
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal adjustments, preparation of all financial statements, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of risk management and process control frameworks is a strong  advantage
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills and highly detail-oriented.
  • Experience working with accounting software
  • Working knowledge of tax filing and tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal-level regulations
  • Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy,  organization, and working in a high-volume environment.
