Job Summary

  • Analyze all retail credit proposals in order to carry out risk identification, risk measurement and risk mitigation with a view to creating performing assets and assuring profitable lending for the Bank.
  • Analyze all retail credit proposals in order to carry out risk identification, risk measurement and risk mitigation with a view to creating performing assets and assuring profitable lending for the Bank.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process retail credit requests for the market facing business units to facilitate prompt decisions.
  • Identify high risk retail credits transactions and quickly step them down if they cannot be mitigated.
  • Work with other departments to ensure completeness of documentation to safeguard the Bank’s position.
  • Analyze and review retail problem loans and extract learning points for future corrective measures.
  • Manage and assist market facing business units in retail credit structuring transaction and also provide advice and interpretations on credit policy.
  • Manage the conveyance of all retail credit decisions to the business units to ensure proper information dissemination and swift response.
  • Participate in various retail credit process transformation projects, credit product development and credit policy formulation to ensure alignment with Bank’s objectives and goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of First Degree in a numerate or business related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Risk Manager (PRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) etc. and/or a second degree are added advantages.

Competency:

  • Knowledge of financial, accounting and auditing processes.
  • Knowledge of managerial accounting
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry.
  • Knowledge of a Mortgage Bank’s structure, operations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Risk management.
