Job Description:

  • We are looking for a skilled and organized Credit Operations Assistant to join our dynamic fintech team in Nigeria. As a Credit Operations Assistant, you will have a critical role in supporting the operational aspects of the credit lifecycle, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of loan applications, managing documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize lending processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Application Support:

  • Assist in the end-to-end loan application process, ensuring timely and accurate processing from submission to approval or decline.
  • Aid in reviewing application documentation, verifying data accuracy, and facilitating communication with underwriting teams.

Documentation Management:

  • Assist in collecting, validating, and maintaining all required loan documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of document retention policies for effective record-keeping.

Process Optimization:

  • Collaborate with the Credit Operations Manager and technology teams to identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing streamlined processes.
  • Participate in initiatives to automate and digitize manual processes, enhancing operational efficiency.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure accurate and consistent processing of loan applications and documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with lending regulations, data privacy laws, and internal policies throughout the credit operations process.

Team Support:

  • Assist the Credit Operations Manager and the credit operations team in various tasks related to credit application processing and documentation management.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.

Vendor Coordination:

  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners involved in credit operations, such as credit bureaus and document verification services, to support strong working relationships.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assist in generating regular and ad hoc reports on credit operations performance, including application processing times, document accuracy, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Contribute to data analysis efforts to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience or internship in credit operations, fintech, banking, or financial services is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of lending processes, documentation requirements, and credit risk management.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software, including Microsoft Office applications.
