Job Title: Drilling Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drilling Engineer with a specialization in turnkey projects to join our team.
- In this role, you will leverage your expertise in drilling operations to support project success across various locations.
- Your responsibilities will include contributing to the planning, execution, and post-drill evaluation phases, ensuring our projects align with client expectations and industry standards.
Requirement For Consideration:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of [2] years of experience in drilling operations, with a preference for experience in turnkey project environments and a demonstrated history of successful project delivery.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of drilling engineering principles, well design, and proficiency in drilling software such as Landmark, WellCat, or other industry-standard applications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on proactive solutions.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to lead and motivate onsite teams, foster collaboration across departments, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: High standards for accuracy in planning, monitoring, and reporting to ensure project precision and compliance.
Essential:
- Program Development: Design and optimize drilling programs, focusing on safe, efficient, and cost-effective methodologies that align with project specifications.
- Operational Oversight: Direct and monitor drilling operations in real-time, providing technical support onsite to ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Project Analysis: Lead pre-drill planning sessions, monitor daily drilling performance, and conduct post drill evaluations to identify and implement
- improvements in future projects.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Geology, Reservoir, and Production Engineering, to optimize drilling performance and align with broader project objectives.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, generate regular progress reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
