It was established in 1992 as Citizens Savings and Loans Limited. But the name was changed in 1997 to New Patriot Building Society Limited. Guaranty Trust Bank plc purchased the company in August 2007 as a completely owned subsidiary and changed its name to GTHomes Limited to reflect its link with GTBank.  Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank Limited thereafter resumed business in January 2008.

Job Purpose / Job Summary

  • This role plays a critical role in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks within an organization to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • It involves collaborating with various departments to develop and implement risk management strategies and policies.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence to Credit Policy Guidelines (CPG)
  • Liaising with Mortgage Operation Unit on credit administration and credit risk management.
  • Conducting credit review and rating exercise on new and existing facilities.
  • Evaluate transactions with canon of credit and determine level of risk objectively
  • Monitoring of circumstances and conditions underlying existing facilities.
  • Monitoring of credit concentration and risk limits
  • Developing, reviewing and implementing credit risk analytics
  • Co-ordinate risk registers to determine the risks associated to all departments
  • Monitoring adherence to counter-partyrisk concentration and limits.
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses
  • Manage and prepare all documentation related to risk assessments and reviewsof standard operating procedures
  • Assist in the design of processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks
  • Assist in the monitoring of instituted risk management framework for optimal result
  • Assist in coordinating the bi-weekly/monthly exercise of Key Risk Indicators in Abuja zones
  • Assist in coordinating the semi-annual exercise on the Risk and Control Self Assessment matrix in Abuja zone and Head Office units.
  • Supporting the Unit Head in convening ALCO meeting, and taking ALCO meetings’ minutes
  • Supporting the Head of Enterprise Risk Management in preparing quarterly reports for Board Risk Committee
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
