Title: Experienced Equity Research Analyst
Location: Lagos State
Tasks at Hand
- Quantitative screening and maintenance of a universe of potential investments that fit the Fund’s criteria.
- Building and upkeep of financial models, monitoring a set universe of potential investments for the fund, identifying new investment opportunities, and preparing reports for the investment manager, advising on when to buy, sell, add to, or trim investment positions.
- You will also help prepare and present client presentation materials.
- The role will involve some travel to meet with companies and clients, attend conferences, and so on.
Requirements
- You will have at least 3 years, and ideally, 10+ years’ experience covering African listed companies as an equity research analyst for either a buy-side or sell-side firm. Prior experience in industry, or professional services is also considered desirable.
- We envision the successful candidate will be based in Kenya, Nigeria, or South Africa.
- You will need an ability to stay focused and disciplined working independently, under the remote supervision of the founder and investment manager, who is based in Tanzania.
- You will ideally have prior experience in a sectoral or geographical specialization, for example, Banks and financials, Food and beverage / Consumer, Tech and telecommunications, Kenya, or Nigeria.
Remuneration
- Salary will be commensurate with experience, with performance-based pay in the form of an annual bonus, and possible equity participation for the right candidate.
