Job Title: Financial Specialist

Location: Nigeria

Duties Description

  • Managing monthly financial closing process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and corrective actions on deviations.
  • Organization Financial health general maintenance.
  • Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Corresponding with various other departments, discussing/clarifying company plans and improving system efficiencies and business performance practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. IFRS, GAAP, FASB) rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
  • Compiling information for Company’s annual tax returns.
  • Training new and existing staff members in various financial procedures and ERP Systems to prepare for job requirements. Managing financial systems and databases, ensuring data integrity.
  • Reconciling payroll and distributions for personnel.
  • Auditing and examining expense documentation submitted by employees and identifying financial discrepancies where applicable.
  • Company representation, filings and upholding of strict compliance with federal state and local government regulatory agencies.
  • Monthly tax filing and tax compliance.

Requirements and skills

  • At least three-year proven work experience as a Financial Specialist or relevant role Work experience in accounting and tax filing
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field Familiar with accounting/ financial system and EPR system Additional qualification a plus.
