Title: General Surgeon
Location: Warri, Delta
Job role
- This role is responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients in the hospital.
What you will be doing
- Minimum of 5 years cognate surgical experience.
- Perform surgical procedures including, but not limited to Laparotomies, Appendectomies, Herniorrhaphies, Herniotomy, Cholecystectomy, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy, Hemorrhoidectomy, and other General surgery procedures
- Evaluate patients’ medical histories, diagnose illnesses, determine treatment plans, and provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay updated with advancements in surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Must have skills
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a General Surgery residency program.
- Board certification in General Surgery.
- license to practice medicine from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and must hold a specialist qualification with Fellow National Postgraduate College of Surgery, Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, or Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons
- Proven experience performing a wide range of general surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must show evidence of competence in the management of general surgery and evidence of active participation in surgical research i.e publications and journal.
Good to have
- Knowledge of Clinical Surgery and other specialist areas of medical practice such as oncology, pathology, radiology and pediatrics, traumatology, neurosurgery, cardio-thoracic medicine.
- Working knowledge of global quality assurance, clinical audit principles and processes and must exhibit a commitment towards continuous quality improvement.
