Job Summary

  • The Group Head, HR And Administration will be responsible for providing a professional HR service to the Group of School’s, identifying HR priorities, and recommending appropriate people management solutions to support the Group School’s aims and objectives.
  • The role holder will oversee the delivery and administration of efficient Group HR systems, policies, processes, and procedures for all staff across the Group of schools, be responsible for all staff-related matters, including the recruitment and selection of key staff, managing and administering all employment related matters, providing advice and guidance for staff to ensure compliance with necessary policies and legislations at the Group level for administration in each of the Group of Schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of the HR Strategy and core areas of the HR function including Workforce Planning Recruitment, Selection and On-Boarding of staff, Training & Development, Performance Management, Employee Relations & Engagement, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and processes as well as prepare and manage HR budget.
  • Develop, lead, communicate and deliver all HR operational activities that link back to the Group of School’s Strategic Plan.
  • Work closely with the Business Partners in each operating School in all departments in assisting the Senior Leadership team and Heads of Department/ Support to understand and implement HR policies and procedures and providing employment law advice.
  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of grievance, disciplinary and capability processes, welfare, absence assessments and policy implementation at the Group level for implementation in each of the Operating Schools.
  • Revise, introduce and implement HR best practices for the Group of Schools as supported by the Nigerian employment law, and provide appropriate advisory support and briefings to the school principals and Board of Governors on HR-related areas.
  • Ensures all HR documentation is compliant with Nigerian employment and labour laws.
  • Maintains the School’s Human Resource Information Systems at the Group level to record information relating to organization structures, workforce profiles, sickness absence statistics, and employee turnover.
  • Represents the Group of School’s HR function on various HR-related consultative associations and committees.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties within the function and responsibility for the post.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, Social Science, the Humanities, or a related field.
  • 7 – 10 years’ work experience as a Human Resource Manager, Human Resource Advisor, Human Resource Generalist, or related experience.
  • Professional Membership: CIPM, SHRM, CIPD.
  • Experience in successfully managing staff, leading, and developing HR functions, including advice to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience of working in an educational/school setting will be added advantage
  • Experience of devising and implementing policies and control in an organization
