Job Description
This job role develops strategies for transitioning from reliance on grid supply to off-grid solutions (i.e. renewable energy plan, transmission & distribution, supports the traction power systems Projects) to meet customer energy needs.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Social Sciences, or any relevant field.
- A relevant postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies.
- At least 10 years experience in a similar function with at least 7 years in a supervisory position within the utility industry or a closely related industry.
Job Responsibility
- Market Research and Analysis: Identifying and developing off-grid energy project pipelines will include concessional investments (e.g. debt and investment grants) for utility-led projects. Conduct market research to identify expansion opportunities and understand industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape.
- Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Identify, engage, and develop relationships with key stakeholders on Independent Power Project (IPP) and Embedded Power Generation (EPG) including government agencies, large industrial clients, and commercial customers.
- Strategic Planning and Sales Strategy Development: Ensure preparation, due diligence/appraisal, approval, negotiation/signing of power purchase agreements, develop and implement strategies to achieve business growth, including geographic and market segment expansion.
- Proposal Development and Negotiation: Prepare, present, and negotiate business proposals, contracts, and agreements with clients and partners.
- Collaboration with Regulatory Bodies: Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure local, state, and federal compliance.
- Project Management: Oversee the development and execution of business development projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on business development activities and sales performance metrics on Independent Power Project (IPP) and Embedded Power Generation (EPG)
- Innovation and Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and integrate innovative and sustainable practices within business development activities.
- Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports to relevant stakeholders. Carry out other sundry assignments as directed by CHBT&S.
