Job Description

  • The Head of ICT is responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure and operations of the microfinance bank.
  • This role involves managing ICT systems, ensuring data security, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and aligning technology with the bank’s strategic goals.
  • The Head of ICT will lead a team to ensure the effective use of technology in enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
ICT Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement the bank’s ICT strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve banking operations.
  • Prepare and manage the ICT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the bank’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems to support business operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to ICT services and products.

Data Security and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect the bank’s information assets.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities.

Digital Transformation:

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Implement digital banking solutions and channels to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the ICT team.

ICT Support and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the provision of timely and effective technical support to internal and external users.
  • Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of ICT systems to minimize downtime.
  • Implement a disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the ICT team to achieve performance goals and objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development needs.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in ICT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of banking systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex ICT projects and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
