Description
- Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent and experienced Head of NOC & Business Intelligence who will support the business by leading NOC Engineers and ensuring that all network systems, subsystems and infrastructures are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage site monitoring, incident management and performance improvement by identifying issues, diagnosing the root causes, and coordinating with other teams to resolve and restore normal operations.
- Manage the Network Operations team and provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure that they deliver high-quality service to our customers.
- Implement the digitization strategy for Daystar Power across its operations in West Africa, with the goal to:
- have accurate live data from all power system at all times that allows Daystar Power to immediately understand critical needs for action (e.g., power outage, overheating, etc.)
- accurate and consistent historical data to be used for root cause analysis of system performance and billing,
- understanding asset type, location and status across sites, and
- being able to track maintenance activities.
- Manage and provide leadership to the Business Intelligence team in providing regular reports and analytics, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing trends, patterns, and presenting insights and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Follow up and analyze the impact of implementing these recommendations.
- Identify gaps in the existing software used by Daystar Power and work with Daystar Power’s existing IT partners to implement the required software capabilities. Where gaps cannot be filled with existing partners, identify and onboard alternatives.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Any other activities, as may be communicated by Daybreak from time to time.
Requirements
1. Education:
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or general engineering degree
- NSE or COREN certified (preferred)
- Project management certification (preferred)
Experience:
- Extensive experience in network operations management and remote site monitoring.
- At least 5 years’ professional experience in Electrical Engineering in a similar position, preferably in the renewable energy or power industry.
- Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
- Excellent analytical, strategic, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis, root cause analysis and forecasting methods.
- Detailed oriented, strong technical and leadership skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, reporting and monitoring software.
- Experience in renewable energy is a plus.
- Experience in PV performance data analysis, Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Power BI or equivalent) is a real asset.

- Must demonstrate proficiency in solar design software such as HOMER, PVsyst, AutoCAD and Helioscope.
