  • Head of Treasury is a senior-level position in VFD Microfinance Bank responsible for overseeing the financial activities of an organization.
  • The primary responsibility of a Head of Treasury is to manage the organization’s liquidity, cash flow, and financial risk.
  • They work closely with the MD, CFO, and other senior executives to develop and implement strategies that optimize the organization’s financial position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to manage the organization’s liquidity, cash flow, and financial risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage the organization’s relationships with banks, investment managers, and other financial institutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, analysts, and rating agencies.
  • Monitor financial market trends and economic conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the organization’s debt portfolio, including issuing bonds and other debt instruments.
  • Develop and implement cash management policies and procedures to optimize the use of the organization’s cash resources.
  • Monitor and analyze the organization’s financial performance, and prepare reports for senior executives and the board of directors.
  • Manage the organization’s foreign currency exposure, including hedging strategies and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain treasury policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with these policies across the organization.
  • Manage the treasury team and ensure that all team members have the necessary skills and resources to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities, and provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Overall, the Head of Treasury plays a critical role in ensuring the financial stability and success of the organization by managing its financial resources effectively and strategically.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is typically required for this role.
  • Pofessional certifications such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) can be beneficial.
  • 7+ years of experience in treasury, finance, or banking, with a track record of success in managing treasury operations, 3 years + preferably in a senior-level position.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry and financial products/services.
