Job Title: Head, SME Recovery

Responsibilities
- Monitors the loan portfolio of the SME banking group.
- Investigate and thoroughly understand borrowers’ problems, and formulate strategies and solutions for resolving problematic loans.
- Works with law enforcement agents throughout the recovery process and provides direction as required.
- Provides cohesive workout strategies, and concise updates on progress, and recommends charge-offs as necessary to management.
- Analyses the loan portfolio for categorization of delinquency and steps to be taken
- Proffering remedial solutions and actions for recovery of delinquent and all other loans in the Group from time to time
- Liaises with Group Head, SME Group on past due obligations and sends signals to the chairman, LMC for further directives.
- Ensures expired loans bank-wide are recovered in line with the agreed threshold
- Ensures timely generation of weekly Reports detailing the following:
- No of cases transferred to LMC and the total amount as at the time of transfer, and date of transfer, and amount recovered compared to previous week.
- No of cases with the police, amount as at date of petition and amount compared to previous week.
- Review customers’ loan files and ensure proper investigations are carried out before making submission to the Management.
- Ensures the SME banking group’s portfolio at risk is within the bank’s set threshold at every point in time.
- Seek advice from the Head legal on matters with the police.
- Prepares schedule of recovery monthly.
