Title: Human Resources Executive (Mid-Level)

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Summary:

  • The Human Resource Executive will play a vital role in managing different aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • This includes ensuring compliance, fostering employee welfare, facilitating training and development programs, implementing performance management processes, and overseeing payroll activities.
  • The ideal candidate should be proactive and detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of HR practices and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Employee Recruitment:

  • Work with hiring managers to identify staffing requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct thorough background checks on potential candidates.
  • Coordinate and conduct recruitment events, including job fairs.
  • Manage the offer and onboarding process for new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

Employee Documentation:

  • Follow up on employee documentation by reviewing and filing documents.
  • Send correspondence to guarantors and previous references for validation, flagging risk cases appropriately.
  • Represent the company alongside the legal representative in cases of employee litigation.
  • Follow up on employee claims with insurance companies.

Employee Welfare:

  • Mobilize staff for various corporate or welfare activities.
  • Propose employee engagement and end-of-year activities.
  • Liaise with the Admin Department to organize logistics for events.
  • Order cakes and coordinate celebrations for employees’ birthdays.
  • Send out communication for events, weddings, etc.
  • Maintain a tracker for employees due for confirmation, leave, resumption, birthday, disciplinary issues, etc.
  • Ensure all employees have active Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans.
  • Employee Training and Development:
  • Conduct job evaluation surveys.
  • Liaise with managers to identify and assess training and development needs.
  • Source vendors to execute training plans.
  • Design and assess training programs.
  • Ensure proper communication, setup, and administration for training courses.
  • Deliver and oversee the training of individuals or groups of employees.
  • Compile and present information related to training.
  • Implement, advise on, and monitor appraisal schemes.
  • Supervise and monitor progress made via training programs or schemes.
  • Ensure employees receive statutorily required training.

Employee Performance Management:

  • Develop Job Descriptions and Person Specifications in collaboration with business line leaders.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop Objectives and Key Results (OKR/ KPIs) for each role.
  • Ensure targeted communication and capacity-building programs in the performance management process.
  • Enable managers to effectively evaluate and measure individual and team performance.
  • Optimize performance and productivity through continuous improvement initiatives.

Employee Payroll:

  • Collect daily, weekly, or monthly timesheets for overtime or contract staff, where applicable.
  • Calculate bonuses and allowances.
  • Prepare employees’ compensation by the end of each month using payroll software.
  • Report on payroll expenses.
  • Ensure wages and tax withholdings comply with regulations.
  • Enter new employees’ data into internal databases.
  • Address questions about compensation, benefits, taxes, and insurance deductions.
  • Prepare employee payslips.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources roles, collaborating with business leaders to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, regulations, and payroll processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on strong social interaction capabilities.
  • Proficient in the use of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analytics with a focus on HR metrics and analytics.
  • Professional Certification in Human Resources Management is highly desirable.
