1). Planning Manager

Location: Nigeria

Role Summary

  • Lead a professional Planning function across Caraway Nigeria Biscuits Confectionary and Snacks operations to maximise service levels to customers while optimizing stocks.
  • Caraway is centered around West Africa and now has 7 Manufacturing Plants in Nigeria across 6 product categories – Tomato Paste, Seasonings, Instant Noodles, Biscuits, Beverages, and Sweets & Candies.
  • The planning Manager Biscuits Confectionary and Snacks will have the responsibility for Material planning, Supply planning, coordination of the S&OP process, and will facilitate demand planning across the designated categories.

Key Deliverables

  • Compliance to planning policies including inventory policy, and categorization of finished goods and raw and packaging material and align with the system integration.
  • Manage stock levels within agreed policy levels for material and finished goods
  • Facilitate the demand planning process for all the appropriate categories, focusing on eliminating bias and improving forecast accuracy.
  • Production planning taking account of demand planning, supply chain policy, capacity limitations, and other production constraints
  • Materials requirement Planning. Create and maintain the materials requirement plan. Establish material safety stock and reorder levels with accurate lead times. Implement stock plans to achieve stock targets on materials and finished goods.
  • Master Production Scheduling
  • Distribution requirement planning / replenishment
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities creating contingencies and making decisions
  • Capacity management planning
  • Drive business planning, and in particular, the annual volume planning process which includes interfacing closely with sales, Marketing and finance to ensure timeous delivery.
  • Support innovation teams in launching new products
  • Develop and train the Demand planners and supply planners across all operations

Requirements

Development Projects

  • Lead ERP projects, integration of SAP MRP. Establish MRP, MPS, and capacity planning processes and align with the system integration
  • S&OP coordination by Planning Manager
  • Complexity Management – regularly review SKU portfolio

Education:

B.Sc. in Engineering. (M.Sc. or MBA preferred)

Experience:

  • Min 10 years of experience in supply chain in Leading Global Agri-Manufacturing/FMCG/
  • Consumer companies with positions covering Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Stock Management and Primary Distribution. Experience of Lean, Six Sigma and/or TPM strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or any ERP is required

2). Materials Planning Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • Practical implementation of demand planning, demand communication and performance measurement. Capturing, interpreting and using consumer/customer information and demand drivers to create and communicate relevant and accurate demand information to support key Supply Chain and business decisions.  Co-ordinating closely with Marketing and Sales teams to produce feasible operational plans for Supply Chain and business activities.
  • Responsible for the quality of the demand planning process and the quality of resultant numbers. Manages key forecasting and demand planning process in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Finance and related functions within Supply Chain ensuring delivery of financial targets by minimising forecast inaccuracy and bias.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Communicate unconstrained demand forecasts to Marketing, Sales and other business stakeholders.
  • Provides input into company-wide demand planning processes & continuous improvement initiatives in this area.
  • Coordinate integration of activity plans coming from Sales and Marketing on top of baseline forecast to produce unconstrained demand forecast.
  • Responsible for the producing and managing baseline demand forecast.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities in sales volume based on statistical analysis, activity evaluations and Sales feedback.
  • Develop and refine the forecasting process, models and tools leading to improved accuracy.
  • Responsible for generating and improving the demand forecasts for the business by using a range of methods including base forecasting.
  • Complexity Management – regularly review SKU portfolio with extended teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply chain) and make appropriate recommendations. Coordinate and manage with Marketing teams on new product, innovation and event/promotion plans and demand forecasting.
  • Manage and report all the KPIs selected for category / business scorecards (bias, inaccuracy, volume), Revenue channel based, OOS levels etc.
  • Give the basic input for promotion evaluation and monitor promotion effectiveness.  Make weekly reviews for operational forecast.
  • Ensure updated and agreed volume forecast are submitted for the financial forecasting.  Highlight risk opportunities to create the range forecasting.

Requirements

Education:

3). Engineering Manager

Location: Ogun

Job Description

  • The Engineering Manager will be the driver of excellence when it comes to the overall engineering and maintenance activity of the factory.
  • The person will be a proactive individual with many years’ engineering experience and proven leadership skills.
  • You will be responsible for the overall operations of all process in the factory. Managing spare part inventory and ensuring uptime for all equipment will be a key deliverable.
  • You will require exceptional foresight, great communication skills, and an aptitude for managing risk.
  • Ideally, candidates will have proof of their supervisory and technical skills, and an appreciation for the complex nature of the industry.
  • You will also be required to drive health and safety policies within the system.
  • As the engineering manager, you will be required to build and manage a diverse team along with driving the following key dimensions.

Key Deliverables

  • Coordinate the maintenance team work schedules according to the requirements or requests made by the safety, environmental, production, and/or other departments.
  • Assign responsibilities to ensure proper maintenance of machine, equipment and utilities to ensure the effectiveness of QMSFood safety and Occupational health
  • Conduct risk assessment of work place, and ensure LOTO system is in place, executed and documented
  • Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the food processing industry with emphasis on planning, scheduling, and preventive / predictive maintenance.
  • Interaction with the MATS department to ensure global practices are adopted in sesame Hulling factory, Sagamu
  • Capture MTTR and MTBF of different process centres in hulling line and utility section
  • Documentation must be developed and/or maintained as applicable for all maintenance tasks, projects, repairs, and upgrades. This includes development or maintenance of device lists, criticality assessment of machines followed by condition appraisal and refurbishment, maintenance personnel training & notifications, and drawing upgrades
  • Performance evaluation/ Appraisal of maintenance individuals
  • Develop a summary of strengths and weaknesses for maintenance individuals
  • Develop the education / training calendar for maintenance Department
  • Provide adequate training/education (skill building exercise) to increase the abilities of the maintenance team
  • Documentation of education & training provided to the Maintenance Individuals
  • 100% Compliance to safety permit systems, LOTO systems

Strategic Effectiveness

  • Generate & implement a comprehensive engineering plan for the factory
  • Implement preventive & corrective maintenance system for all the equipment, ensuring maximum up-time for all the equipment.
  • Generate and adhere to R&M budget & CAPEX proposals.
  • Create daily/weekly/monthly engineering reports, monitor operations and plant health
  • Maintain equipment history cards, plan upgrade and replacement of the equipment
  • Generate drawings for a new modification/improvement plan, incorporate technical improvements for efficiency increase.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Monitor daily records of energy and downtime, maintain utilization reports
  • Build and manage diverse and effective teams.
  • Prove hands-on skill and ability to train juniors for the repair of different types of equipment. Be the definitive engineering leader and technical expert
  • Monitor performance of packaging m/c’s for technical efficiency
  • Build relationships with vendors for services and spares for timely back-up. Cost, quality and time management with vendors and suppliers.
  • Implementation of safety policies and developing a strong culture of safety practices
  • Handle government agencies for environmental issues, be an advocate for health and safety at the location.
  • Identify training needs and provide on-job /internal training. Create relevant training modules where required.
  • Contract Management, working with legal and finance teams to ensure timely and effective execution.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Maintain a high level of OEE for overall plant
  • Downtime analysis, optimizing the maintenance process for better utilization of resources.
  • Spare parts inventory management (Maintain an adequate level of spare parts as a cost-effective system). Building a network of JIT suppliers for cost control.
  • Process optimization and regular improvements. Leading quality initiatives and ensuring actionable information is captured at every process.
  • Strong follow-up for LT/HT electrical installations (existing) for proper maintenance
  • Monitoring of gen-sets, boilers, chillers, air compressors, WTP, ETP daily for energy-efficient operation

Requirements

  • Certified Engineer
  • Graduate of Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 7-8 years of experience in FMCG
  • Knowledge of food safety and Quality Management System
  • Vast knowledge in utility and water treatment etc.
