1). Flight Operations Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

  • The Flight Operations Manager has the authority and responsibility for the management and supervision of all flight operations activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • The FOM reports to the DFO, who has the authority and responsibility for all line operations through the coordination and supervision of the flight operations department, the cabin crew department and the operations control department;
  • The formulation, administration and control of the Company’s Flight Operations policy relating to operating standards, flight safety and flight training and the development of appropriate procedures designed to achieve safe and efficient flight operations by the Company, in accordance with all statutory requirements;
  • Ensure that Company policy and procedures are promulgated in the PASL Operations Manuals, which define the Company Standard Operating Procedures to be followed;
  • Ensure that the Contract/Special Duties Operations are kept fully aware of legal, statutory and mandatory regulations applicable to flight operations, and making such recommendations as are appropriate for necessary improvements within the flight operations department;
  • Ensure that the Company maintains the highest achievable standards of flight safety and efficiency by supporting industry and regulatory initiatives, the prompt closure of quality audit non-conformances, and the adoption of safety management practices within the Company;
  • The collection and dissemination of information contained in NCAA circulars and notices, and any other information affecting safety or regulation of flight operations;
  • Assists and liaises with the DFO for publication of PASL Manuals such as Operations Manual (OM), Training Manual (TM) and Low Visibility Operations Manual (LVOP) to keep the contents, amendments, revisions, instructions and information in these documents up-to-date.
  • Determination of the usability of aerodromes for Company operations, identify restrictions for their use and to lay down the appropriate aerodrome operating minima;
  • Determination of the usability of areas and airways to be utilized for the Company’s flight operation and establishment of minimum flight altitudes
  • To represent, as far as flight operations are concerned the Company’s interests in National, International bodies and Institutions.
  • To ensure that any contractor employed meets the required standards, since the Company when contracting for the provision of certain services retains responsibility for the maintenance of proper standards.
  • Overall responsibility for the safe and legal operation of the PASL FTL scheme (N.B. Day to day control of the operation of the FTL scheme will be vested in the SOCC, but the FOM retains overall accountability for its safe and legal operation);
  • Ensure the functioning of the Quality System within the flight operations department and monitor the implementation of corrective action within the department;
  • Perform a periodic data evaluation to identify trends and weaknesses as input to the management evaluation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all operational control functions and other related activities in accordance with the standards of PASL and the NCAA
  • Ensure the safety and security of all flight operations
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • High Dchool Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of related experience is required.

2). Senior CAMO Engineer

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior CAMO Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of our aircraft fleet by planning, coordinating, and monitoring maintenance activities.
  • This includes advance planning of maintenance tasks, liaison with departments, notification of maintenance requirements, preparation of work scopes and spare parts requirements, review of technical documents, and maintenance of accurate records and logs.

Duties / Responsiblities

  • Ensuring advance planning of all required maintenance on aircraft or aircraft components so as to ensure that all maintenance is accomplished within the intervals specified in the approved maintenance programme.
  • Liaison with appropriate departments to make aircraft required for maintenance available at the appropriate time
  • Notifying the appropriate departments of aircraft or component maintenance requirement well in advance to facilitate planning for the necessary equipment and manpower resources
  • Prepares work scopes/package for heavy maintenance checks/inspections called up in the process of the implementation of approved maintenance programme and advising the Store officer as to provide the spare parts requirement for upcoming inspections.
  • Reviews applicable ADs, SBs and other technical documents for implementation.
  • Maintaining a correct computerized aircraft and component maintenance status.
  • Maintaining a correct computerized Engines and APU LLP status.
  • Ensure complete and correct updating of the Aircraft, Engine and APU logbooks
  • Maintaining a correct status of compliance for all accomplished airworthiness directives and manufacturers’ service bulletins or letters.
  • Ensures that the revision status of the manual/documents agrees with that of the manufacturers and vendors
  • Prepare aircraft documents for NCAA C of A renewals when due
  • Issues a weekly forecast of required maintenance activities rolling on a monthly cycle and also issues a quarterly and yearly maintenance schedule to all concerned
  • Carry out airworthiness review on UNA fleet Bi-annually
  • Carry out any other assignments given by your Line Manager.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in aircraft maintenance planning and coordination
  • Hold a valid CAMO Engineer license or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations, including NCAA requirements
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance planning software and systems
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role in flight operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety management systems, and flight operations procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
