Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Intern

Job Description
- This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of MERL within the nonprofit sector.
- The intern will assist in designing and implementing MERL frameworks, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to evidence-based decision-making.
- This role is a hybrid position, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Assist in designing data collection tools and methodologies.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data to assess program effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and visualizations to communicate findings.
MERL Framework Development:
- Collaborate with MERL specialists to develop and refine program MERL frameworks.
- Assist in the development of indicators and data collection plans.
Research and Learning:
- Conduct literature reviews and research to inform program design and improvement.
- Support the documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
- Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities for FeedUp Africa.
- Assist in preparing grant proposals and reports.
Program Evaluation:
- Contribute to the planning and execution of program evaluations and assessments.
- Assist in conducting baseline and endline assessments.
Capacity Building:
- Participate in MERL capacity-building activities for program staff and partners.
- Provide training and guidance on data collection and reporting.
Communication and Social Media:
- Assist in creating engaging social media content from research findings..
- Assist in producing multimedia content for fundraising and awareness campaigns.
Administrative Tasks:
- Perform various administrative tasks to support MERL activities.
- Maintain organized records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, International Development, or related field.
- Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, statistical software).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communication and digital skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Enthusiasm for MERL work and nonprofit initiatives.
- Applicants must have access to a laptop.
