1). Packet Core SME

Location: Lagos

Summary:

  • The primary function of this role is to provide expert-level support of Ericsson packet core nodes.
  • Highly specialized in providing technical & proactive support to the customer network.
  • Call out and liaise with Vendors & service providers for 4th line support until resolution.
  • Support the provision of accurate reporting on the network to Ericsson teams, Vendors, and Customers, supplying technical/statistical data as required.

What You Will Do

  • Perform maintenance, daily health checks, and solving of all packet core and Enterprise data network service nodes (MME, MPG, PCRF, DNS).
  • Designing, and solving Core Network platforms and applications that provide Data services.
  • Interacts with multiple Engineering, Operations & QA teams in designing robust network solutions.
  • Define technical requirements for core network elements and work effectively with solution teams in designing solutions on existing products.
  • Support deployment of major hardware and software upgrades working with the project team to ensure seamless operation as the network architecture evolves.
  • Work with the Performance teams on assessing the performance and capacity of the platforms and drive corrective actions with stakeholders to resolve any identified degradation.
  • Identifying improvements in processes, tools and products and establishing good working relationships with support organization
  • Experience working on any of the Packet core network elements such as PGW, PCRF, MME, SGW, DNS, AAA, HLR/HSS, DRA, etc with vast use of protocol analyzers and solving tools such as Wireshark.
  • Perform required maintenance, expansion, and upgrade of H/W & S/W and solve on critical issues.
  • Integrate new network communication devices, topologies, hardware and protocols into existing network management systems continuously.
  • Liaise with Network Engineers within the organization which includes MPLS unit, Charging Units and Radio Access Unit ensuring that all faults are resolved.
  • Responsible for providing feedback to the planning to ensure robust design and redundancy, performance tracking and statistical KPI analysis for the long-term strategic evolution of the network.
  • Maintain End-to-end internal Data security on the Packet Core / Enterprise Data Network.
  • Continual Constructive criticism of existing infrastructure with visible plans for improvement.
  • Ensure Key work is met: MTTR, Availability.
  • Document user support activity, such as system problems, corrective actions, resolution status and completed equipment installations.
  • Interpret Customer’s Business Needs and Articulate/Demonstrate How Ericsson’s ICT Services Can Benefit the Customer and Address Their Needs.
  • Solving Packet switching network, signaling, telecom standards and implementation and maintenance for IP Network & Packet Core equipment: PGW_SGW etc.
  • Physical solving of Packet Core nodes and involved in changing specific hardware parts if any fault is developed
  • 2nd level support for GPRS nodes from UE to the internet on the network.

You will bring

  • BSC/HND or equivalent experience within Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of general Packet Core solutions for 2G, 3G and LTE
  • Knowledge of Packet Core Nodes like SGSN-MME, GGSN, PCRF, SGW/PGW
  • Understanding of dimensioning guidelines for Packet Core Nodes
  • GPRS, WCDMA, LTE Media and Signaling Interfaces (including 3GPP and non-3GPP)
  • Strong knowledge of wireless technologies (call flow), related protocols and telecommunication standards like 3GPP
  • Strong knowledge of Linux scripting.
  • Ability to multitask, and cope with a multifaceted environment where priorities are constantly revised to keep pace with a highly driven industry
  • Relevant certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, MTA, MCSA, AWS, etc is an added advantage.

  • Head of MFS Project Management office role is accountable for projects delivery of Mobile Financial Services and in general Fintech portfolio in region of MMEA.

Responsibilities
What you will do:

  • Maintain and develop teams of Program Directors and Project Managers.
  • Be accountable for Mobile Financial services PMO department to establish and maintain frameworks for projects and demands delivery, quality assurance and department’s performance metrics.
  • Be accountable for Mobile Financial services projects outcome on time, in budget, withing scope and committed quality
  • Setup and maintain MFS PMO projects portfolio
  • Participate in MFS Cluster forum to support on specific initiatives, providing thought leadership and technology guidance
  • Design, and secure the adequate level of competence in the unit to support the business demands. . Plan for team development connected to MA needs. Engage with and endorse strategic learning initiatives.
  • Define Performance KPI’s for the resources pool
  • Identify & implement best practices, drive improvement programs, participate in external & internal networks. Ensure adherence to global and MMEA MFS processes, methods & tools.
  • Work closely with Head of MFS Cluster, Head of MFS COE on governance and resolving project and resource issues
  • Manage and balance resources, cost, and competence (pyramids) based on business need and recruitment of resources ensuring diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Strategic Product Manager (SPM) during the planning of all aspects of the product.
  • Cooperates with Lead Architects and Line Managers during the planning phase. The DPO, the Lead Architects and the DevOps Line Managers form the SANT Core 3 which is supporting SPM during product planning.
  • Create demands in Replir; Team capacity and other cost.
  • Follow up and maintain demands in Replir in line with the Monthly Resource Planning cadence.
  • Ensure the product has the needed internal approvals and certifications. The DPO is supported by the team in this mission as well as the SANT Security SPOCs.
  • Represent the end user view during the product development phase.
  • Ensure that all critical assets associated with the product are identified and have an assigned owner.
  • Examples of those assets are licenses, servers, code repositories,test data,stored information and environments.
  • Ensure that the team is focused on the deliverables by becoming the “entry point” towards Strategic Product Management during escalations, reporting, new requirements, compliance, and other aspects related to the Product.
  • Involve team representatives as needed in discussions with Business Stakeholders and end-users.
  • Collaborate with Line Managers and Lead Architect to ensure the team has the needed competence and the right size to fulfill the SPM requirements.
  • Coordinate with SPM during risk assessments and preparation of any needed exception that the SPM needs to request in the corresponding board. The SPM should ensure that regulatory and security compliance are part of the strategic plan of a product and will secure corresponding funding.
  • A DPO can be assigned to one of the sub-products representing typically a subset of user centric functionality. Also, for complex products, there may exist one SPM that cooperates with different DPOs assigned to the sub-products. In the absence of an SPM as defined in the link, a lead DPO role maybe necessary in SAN Tools to help closing the portfolio responsibility gap.

Requirements

  • Graduate in a Technical / Professional stream, preferably B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering)/B Tech. (Bachelor of Technologies) M Tech preferably in Computer Science or Electronics or Masters in Computer Application (MCA) MBA
  • Excellence in Product Ownership, Software Design, Architecture principles and Software Development Life Cycle
  • An ability to quickly move from top to granular level technical discussions
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Must be good in re-engineering and re-usability aspects
