1). Accounting Associate

Location: Lagos

As an Accounting Associate, you will be responsible for all tactical and operational duties of the accounting function. This includes the preparation of accounting schedules, management reporting, statutory reporting, and internal and external stakeholder management. You will report to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper accounting records
  • Prepare journal entries and post transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and bank reconciliation report in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and relevant accounting concepts and principles
  • Support the Accounting Manager in budget preparation, annual reports, audits, etc
  • Review and confirm the correct tax computation and remittance and engagement of stakeholders for tax receipts
  • Manage and report on petty cash and operational expenses within limits set by Accounting Manager and Chief Operating Officer
  • Month-end closing activities like generating reports, cut off activities on specific workdays (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Application of the principles of the accounting manuals and update to the manuals subject to the approval of the Accounting Manager
  • Development and update of Accounting SOPs
  • Engagement of internal stakeholders as required to fulfill responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and reporting of key performance metrics to help drive business productivity
  • Ensure timely preparation and transmission of regulatory filings and other external reports
  • Preparation of standard management reports and any other reports as may be required by management from time to time
  • Daily reconciliation for all payment processors for all products using source data
  • Ensure accuracy of all automated sources of data via frequent checks and reconciliations

Requirements

  • BSc in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
  • 3-4 years working as an Accountant or Auditor.
  • Professional certification or Part Qualification – (Professional level of ACA, ACCA is an added advantage).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Good knowledge of Accounting Software (Sage, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate report writing skills.
  • Basic presentation skills.

2). Product Marketing Executive

Location: Lagos

This is a cross-functional role and you will collaborate with highly talented individuals from different products and across the Engineering, Business Development, Content, and Design teams who have a track record of successfully building the brand.

  • Will create and execute innovative strategies, and marketing plans that drive awareness, engagement, and product adoption.
  • Will collaborate closely with the content and design team to guide and develop the ideal content and positioning for outbound programs. Also, ensure that product narratives resonate with our customers and speak to their challenges.
  • Is detail-oriented, and uses qualitative and quantitative data to obtain insights into customers’ usage of our product’s features.
  • Understands the competitive landscape. How the market is positioned, what our value advantage and key product market differentiators are.
  • Will serve as a key partner to the product management and engineering teams, help to craft and modify our roadmap based on customer and user feedback, as well as market and competitive trends.
  • Will be involved with planning product launch events and other experiential marketing activities.

Requirements

  • 3 years work experience in a data-driven Product Marketing role.
  • You have experience with customer segmentation, market analysis, and building business cases to improve the customer and user experience.
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns).
  • Experience in working with a high-growth (fintech) startup or marketing agency is a plus.

3). Reconciliation and Settlement Associate

Location: Lagos

Ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving all issues arising from electronic transactions and perform automated back-office processing such as dispute processing, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation of transactions across all Piggytech’s products to confirm accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of collections and payments of all products and flag discrepancies.
  • Liaising with payment processors on collections and payments.
  • Daily reconciliation of accounts for exceptions and subsequent escalation of exceptions for resolution.
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to assist with investigations to identify the root cause of losses, and working with subject matter experts to identify and execute solutions.
  • Work with the customer finance team on disputes and chargebacks.
  • Continuous evaluation of current processes vis-à-vis best industry practices.

Requirements

  • BSc in any field in the Social Sciences.
  • 3-4 years working years of experience in reconciliation and settlements.
  • Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office Products, (PowerBI, Outlook, Powerpoint) especially Excel.
  • SQL/MY SQL skills to extract data from databases.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate report writing skills.
  • High-level attention to detail.
