Job Title: Female Pre-School/Nursery Assistant
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Description
- We are looking to appoint a classroom assistant educator to work cooperatively as part of the nursery team to help educate and care for the children.
- This opportunity allows you to learn ‘on the job’ and earn a salary while you train towards becoming a full educator delivering an international curriculum.
- To be considered, you must be currently working with children aged 1-3 in an educational setting.
Job Responsibilities
Work with other educators in all activities, including but not limited to:
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for young children
- Handling basic hygiene needs such as hand washing, toilet training, meal service and record keeping
- Sharing responsibility in the implementation of lesson plans and the preparation of teaching/learning materials
- Conducting daily small-group activities for an assigned group of children, sharing responsibility for large-group activities and using appropriate adult/child interactions strategies with all children
- Assuming responsibility for a classroom at any given time
- Observing and/or participating in parent-teacher conferences
- Providing coverage for breaks for other staff members
- Supervising daily lunch and playground activities, field trips and walks
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- You MUST be resident in Ibadan and live within reasonable commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
- OND / NCE gained from a reputable Institution
- Essential minimum 1 year work experience in Pre-school/Nursery School
- Interactions expressive of genuine warmth and concern for children as well as an understanding of their developmental needs
- Respect for children’s ideas, feelings, abilities and differences
- Insights into and has tolerance for the range of age-appropriate behavior
- Ability to assume needed duties and responsibilities without supervision
- Ability to use discretion in communications with parents in the Teacher‘s absence
- Must possess personal attributes needed to develop trusting relationships with children and adults
- Ability to move and react quickly and handle emergencies effectively
- Ability to abide by all rules and regulations applicable to workers of the school
- Ability to accept changes in schedules, environment, etc.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of the curriculum and implement curriculum practices in the classroom Interested candidates
- MUST demonstrate evidence of work within early years on their CV
