About the Role

  • Remedial Health (YC W22) is seeking a full-time Procurement Associate based in Fagge A, Kano. As a procurement associate, you shall assume responsibility for the company’s stock purchases in compliance with established policies and guidelines. In order to develop and implement procurement strategies and maintain supplier relationships, he or she will collaborate closely with the head of procurement. In addition, the Procurement Associate will be in charge of negotiating terms and conditions, prices, and contracts with suppliers in collaboration with the supply chain team.

Job Description

  • Understand the organization’s purchasing policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors to encourage competition and obtain the best possible terms
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved requisitions
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure delivery of goods and services in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Resolve issues with vendors in a professional and efficient manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases, including prices, terms, and delivery dates
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procurement processes and systems
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts with vendors
  • Perform cost analysis and price comparisons to ensure the most favorable terms
  • Manage the inventory of supplies and equipment, and reorder as necessary
  • Keep abreast of developments in the procurement field to identify new sources of supply and improve methods of procurement

Qualifications

  • Should possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a related field
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems
  • Experience in carrying out proper market surveys with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Person Specification

  • Should possess strong analytical, organisation, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Cost Optimization and Project Management skills
  • Fluency in English, Hausa and other local languages of the Northern Nigeria region is a plus
