Title: Programs and Events Manager

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Overview

  • The Programs and Events Manager will lead the strategic design and execution of programs and events aimed at achieving organizational goals.
  • This role requires exceptional leadership abilities to manage a team effectively, plan and execute events that align with program objectives, maintain client relationships, and ensure the success of each event.

Key Responsibilities
Program and Event Planning:

  • Lead the design and development of programs and events aimed at achieving organizational objectives, focusing on sectors such as agribusiness, maritime, and trade.
  • Ensure the alignment of events with program goals and client needs.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

  • Effectively lead and mentor a team responsible for executing programs and events.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative team environment to ensure successful event execution.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Manage client relationships, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs), deliverables, validation, and feedback requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.

Strategic Planning and Administration:

  • Plan and administer all project related activities, including finalization, organization, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Develop weekly work plans, oversee their implementation, and ensure completion.

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development:

  • Develop stakeholder maps for each program and maintain an updated stakeholders and partners database.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders including government agencies, donors, private firms, and international organizations to facilitate partnerships aligned with trade and investment in Africa.

Event Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Track, monitor, and evaluate program and event metrics to ensure milestones are achieved in line with budget and timeline perspectives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and share best practices to enhance future event success.

Collaboration and SOP Implementation:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of programs and events.
  • Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all program activities.

Sales, Repeat Customers, and Success Metrics:

  • Ensure the success of events by focusing on sales, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of each program. Foster repeat customer engagement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business, Financial Inclusion.
  • Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience in event management, with a focus on agribusiness, agri-finance, and agriculture value chains, Trade and investment particularly in Nigeria.
  • Proven leadership in managing multiple projects concurrently and leading teams toward program goals.
  • Demonstrated innovation, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective presentation and client interaction.
  • Strong self-drive, curiosity, ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage time effectively.
