Job Description
- Provide technical support relative to steam boilers;
- Provide technical support to the sales team during the tendering phase;
- Develop the the design phase of the project:
- o Steam pipework
- o Boiler feed water pipework
- Gathering technical information with sales representatives to clarify projects;
- Assist African sales teams with project delivery;
- Ensuring that client requirements are fully realized;
- Maintain regular customer contact to establish requirements and ensure a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times;
- Coordinate with boiler organization with regards appropriate selection of equipment, ancillaries, logistics and service support;
- Coordinate with African notified bodies, ensuring that all equipment is supplied in accordance with African legislation;
- Manage ongoing projects via site visits, ensuring that client requests are met in a timely manner (on a rare basis);
- Consult external service providers (carriers, crane operators, inspection bodies, pipe fitters, etc.);
- Follow the project delivery on sites & remotely;
- Support service engineers with requests of amendments/extra resource & equipment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role;
- Experience within the steam boiler industry;
- Technical knowledge of steam boilers and their relevant legislative requirements;
- Experience with pipework, housework & associated ancillaries;
- Ability to read P & ID as well as Electrical schematic;
- Ability to manage projects efficiently;
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Windows Office, Excel and appropriate Microsoft applications and AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
