Regulatory & Compliance Director at Phillips Consulting

• Our client, a leader in the Telco Industry is seeking to fill the position of Regulatory & Compliance Director.
• The Regulatory & Compliance Director oversees and ensures that the organization conducts its business processes in compliance with laws and regulations, professional standards, international standards, and accepted business practices.
• The successful candidate will perform audits at regular intervals and execute design control systems, advising the management on possible risks that might occur, and organization policies and will be responsible for upholding the ethical integrity of the organization and also ensure that business activities are conducted using a regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and leads in the implementation of a Regulatory & Compliance Framework for the organisation.
• Provides guidance on proper application and interpretation of laws, regulations and policies applicable to the organisation and its participants.
• Coordinates business and regulatory specific compliance reviews, routine checks and approvals.
• Implements a monitoring and reporting mechanism to check the organisation’s own compliance as well as client compliance with prescribed regulations, rules and standards.
• Develops and cultivates an effective compliance culture in the organisation and amongst the participants to the organisation’s services.
• In addition to the specific responsibilities, will generally be responsible for the following Stakeholders’ Management.

Educational/ Experience Requirements

• Degree/Postgraduate/Professional qualification in Law, Risk Management, Accounting, Banking or Economics or Information Technology or other relevant qualifications.
• More than 15 years relevant experience in regulation and compliance/audit with at least 5 years occupying a leadership position. Good knowledge of risk management practices and relevant regulations.
• The ideal candidate could be a Director, Regulatory, Director, Regulatory & Compliance or a similar role from either Telco, FCMG or Banking industry.
• Relevant professional certifications.
