Job Title: Relationship Manager (Private Banking)

Locations: Lagos and Port Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Deputy Manager – Manager Level (DM – MGR)

Job Description

  • Our client is looking to hire a Relationship Manager to expand the banks High-Net-Worth Individual (HNI) and Ultra High-Net-Worth Individual (UHNI) customer base.
  • This role will focus on customer acquisition through referrals and the bank’s value chain while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish new HNI/UHNI relationships within the value chain marketing strategy.
  • Review and guide team members’ call plans to ensure targets are met.
  • Collaborate with account officers to convert identified prospects and clusters.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and offer suitable products/services.
  • Regularly assess and refine customer segment marketing strategies and make improvement recommendations.
  • Conduct regular visits and calls to key decision-makers in existing customer networks to strengthen relationships.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Private Banking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking & Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in customer relationship development/management.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Solid understanding of Private Banking, Wealth Management, and Retail Banking markets.
  • Proficiency in product knowledge, sales, and credit appraisal/analysis.
  • Supervisory skills with a focus on team building and conflict management.
  • Strong organizational and managerial capabilities.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Liability growth.
  • Loan book growth.
  • Premium credit card sales.
  • HNI/UHNI account acquisition.
  • Cross-selling sign-on rates.
  • Business volume growth across deposits, loans, and fees.
  • Revenue/PBT growth.
  • Private Banking initiatives and drives.
