Job Description

  • We are seeking a motivated and proactive Relationship Officer to join our client’s team.
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, identifying their financial needs, and providing tailored financial solutions.
  • This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of microfinance products, and the ability to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular client visits to assess their financial needs and offer appropriate financial solutions.
  • Provide personalized service to high-value clients to enhance customer loyalty and retention.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
  • Promote and cross-sell the bank’s products and services, including loans, savings accounts, and other financial products.
  • Achieve individual and team sales targets through effective sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Participate in marketing campaigns and community outreach programs to raise awareness of the bank’s offerings.

Credit Assessment and Risk Management:

  • Conduct thorough credit assessments to evaluate the creditworthiness of potential borrowers.
  • Prepare and present credit proposals to the credit committee for approval.
  • Monitor and manage the loan portfolio to ensure timely repayments and minimize default rates.
  • Implement risk management practices to safeguard the bank’s assets and maintain a healthy loan portfolio.

Customer Service and Support:

  • Provide clients with accurate and timely information about their accounts and transactions.
  • Assist clients with the loan application process, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Educate clients on the bank’s policies, procedures, and financial literacy to empower them to make informed financial decisions.
  • Handle client complaints and feedback professionally, escalating issues as necessary to ensure resolution.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, transactions, and loan activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, client feedback, and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, such as credit, operations, and customer service, to deliver seamless banking experiences to clients.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Relationship Officer, Sales Representative, or similar role in the microfinance banking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of microfinance products, credit assessment, and risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and banking software.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
