Title: Retail Store Manager

Location: Gbagada, Lagos

Summary

  • Our client is seeking for a professional and customer-service oriented Retail store manager to oversee daily operations of the supermarket store.
  • As a Retail store manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high operational and organizational standards at the store.
  • You will be responsible for training new staff and creating a pleasant store environment for customers and staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, oversees, trains, and reviews staff
  • Manages financial and statistical records, including budgets
  • Markets and promotes the organization
  • Handles customer complaints and inquiries
  • Supervises stock control and pricing policies
  • Maximizes profitability to meet sales goals and targets
  • Ensures compliance with safety and health regulations
  • Arranges promotional displays and materials
  • Retail store managers oversee the daily operations of your store.
  • As the retail store manager, you make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently while providing high-quality customer service.
  • Motivate sales teams, generate business and marketing strategies, and develop promotional material.
  • In charge of training new staff and working as a general supervisor to make sure everything is in order during their shift.
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Motivate the sales team through training and mentorship
  • Build team relationships and lead toward common workplace goals
  • Create business strategies to attract new customers, increase store traffic, and improve store profitability
  • Hire, train, and oversee all new staff
  • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
  • Problem solve to address customer concerns in a way that profits the store and pleases the customer
  • Design and arrange in-store displays
  • Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer requests, and profits along with any other noteworthy metrics
  • Ensure the store is well stocked and procurement done timely
  • Ensure the daily reconciliation of the sales
  • Complete administrative duties including managing store budgets and updating all financial records

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years experience retails sales with proven track record
  • 5+ years’ successful experience in retail store management
  • Previous retail management experience preferred
  • 3 years of experience working in a retail environment (minimum, more preferred)
  • Customer management skills and customer-service oriented
  • In-depth knowledge of basic business management practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Strong customer management and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software programs
  • Solid understanding of mathematics and reading comprehension skills
  • Prior service hiring, training, managing, and retaining team members.
