The Role
- This is an exciting opportunity to help drive companies growth through a combination of data-driven analysis, problem-solving, consumer, and customer understanding.
- Working closely with the Head of Strategy, you will help us take data-driven decisions that support our success based on financial, customer and market analysis and research.
- You will also work cross-functionally with teams such as (but not limited to) Sales, Operations, Marketing and Finance to help support decision making and alignment across the business.
- You will routinely work with the day-to-day planning teams in developing a clear roadmap that will realize the company’s strategic vision and grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high quality and data-driven strategic initiatives to drive business growth, increase market share, and enhance profitability.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic vision and ensure effective implementation of key business priorities across the organization.
- Create and execute strategic plans on product development, business development, and go-to-market strategies using internal and external data sources.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to anticipate potential impacts on the business and develop proactive strategies.
- Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential risks.
- Identify and assess potential partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic alliances to support business objectives.
- Be a thought leader and contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans and goals.
- Perform financial modeling and analysis to evaluate investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Sales & Procurement to develop innovative FMCG products.
- Manage the development of weekly/quarterly/annual business and cross-functional performance reviews.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Uphold confidentiality and the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
Requirements
Education:
- M.Sc or Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in strategy or business development /intelligence unit of a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)/ Retail/ Manufacturing business OR experience as a consultant servicing the FMCG industry.
- Proven record of delivering positive business impact and contributing to the bottom line.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of strategists.
- Highly effective in cross-functional and stakeholder management.
- Experience in managing new product development from concept to launch and contributing to long-term innovation pipeline.
Skills:
- Excellent analytical ability to apply top-down strategic thinking to complex, ambiguous and unfamiliar problems; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the FMCG industry dynamics, market trends, and consumer behavior.
- Ability to drive and lead cross functional project teams to deliver validated product concepts to market.
- Strong data visualization skills using tools like Tableau, Looker, QlikView, and/or Power BI to present complex data in a visually compelling and easy-to-understand manner.
- Solid financial modeling skills to perform detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and strategic plans to internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Excel for creating high-quality presentations, reports, and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
