We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Treasury Manager

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Treasury Manager is responsible for cash and treasury operations, short-term borrowing, and investments, as well as payments.
  • The successful candidate will monitor compliance with the Treasury Department’s goals, assess the products, services, technologies, and systems that are available and appropriate for the department, and oversee all aspects of the company’s financial risk exposures including interest rate risk and foreign currency risk.

Responsibilities
Strategic Insight and Integration:

  • Identify and implement strategies in ensuring designed and executing operational processes on settle payouts to merchants, managing daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of settlements, and escalations to partners, liquidity providers, payment processors, and more for any risk-related issues.

Technical / Analysis and Problem Solving:

  • Preparation and analysis of daily float, exposure, and liquidity reports within the organization
  • Monitor exposure limits set by currency based on volatility, trade size limited by max. theoretical loss based on volatility
  • Perform daily open position reconciliation and ensure that Treasury performance is tracked and reported accurately.
  • Analyse and monitor the deal life cycle for key instruments from consummation to post-settlement reconciliation
  • First-line oversight for operational risk within the Treasury as well as for dealing activities executed by the Treasury function, including assurance that deals are executed in line with Dealing Mandates, within limits and Policy.
  • Maintain Quick-book keeping system for storage of account statements, overtime remittance, invoice generated amounts)
  • Maintain relationships with the banks ensuring smooth flow of funds across all banking systems, maintaining bank statements and implementing banking-related changes
  • Carryout verification of funds/payments deposited by customers, partners, and forex traders
  • Ensure all payment gateways/payouts are properly funded to execute transactions (Interswitch, Flutterwave, Equity Bank , Zeepay etc)
  • Performs Mid-Market Surveys of rates to determine the best rate at which currencies are sold or bought
  • Provide daily exchange rates for various parties such as Business to Business Customers, Business Partners rate, and Forex trader
  • Carry out trading activities daily all trades must be properly inputted and updated using the trading software
  • Ensure due diligence is performed on all trading partners and passed across to the compliance department
  • Ensure critical controls relating to market risk management are being observed and assist in raising appropriate awareness in the Treasury Front and Back-Office.
  • Keep abreast of local market developments which could have a direct bearing on changes to procedures/reporting requirements.
  • Monitor offshore bank balances to ensure that funds are available to meet the daily opex payments of the company after making investments and buffer requirements are met.
  • Seek out opportunities for excess liquidity and Invest surplus USD balances in offshore Money Market Funds with the company’s approved Fund Managers. Management of a portfolio of over $1bn+
  • Develop and Implement strategies to manage foreign exchange exposure
  • Prepare rolling cash forecasts to determine funding requirements
  • Coordinate US dollar Sales to Nigerian banks from the invitation of banks to bid evaluation, award, settlement, and all related documentation.
  • Prepare reports and advisory notes for engagement with Shareholders and other Stakeholders
  • Provide support for the Administration of Shareholder Loans and prompt payment of approved Shareholder dividend payments
  • Provide information for Input into financial statements and finance system operation
  • Prepare ad-hoc briefing notes to Executive and Senior Management to foster decision-making

Interpersonal, Relationship Management & Collaboration:

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and following up with external customers on all account-related requests

Customer Focus:

  • Ensure Internal and External Customer Satisfaction

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc. Hons) Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or other applicable courses from a reputable higher institution.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience at treasury positions in Fintech or Payment companies/banks
  • Professional accounting qualification ICAN/ACCA.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Auditing standards, CAMA, and other local/ International laws as may be applicable.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • A thorough understanding of key areas such as risk, compliance, and financial legislation.
  • Understanding and experience in treasury accounting including FX, liquidity, cash flow, and various financial instruments.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, financial instruments, and debt instruments
  • In-depth industry knowledge regarding best practices, policies, current regulations, and technology.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to work across a broad range of issues and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage and influence change.
  • Excellent presentation, collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
  • Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable and accepted solutions.
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, integrity, collaboration with a team, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
