1). Payroll Specialist
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of the company’s payroll.
- This role involves meticulous attention to detail in calculating wages, preparing and processing payments, and resolving payroll discrepancies. As a payroll specialist, you must be able to use MS Excel with accuracy and efficiency.
- You must be very good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information.
- You must also possess great communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives.
- The goal is to ensure personnel receive the correct compensation in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Gather information on hours worked for each employee
- Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses
- Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed
- Address and resolve employee complaints relating to the payroll system
- Work with company database programs to process payroll
- Prepare reports to relevant departments about payroll, company budget and expense
- Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system
- Administer statements of payment (Pay Slips) to personnel either electronically or on paper
- Process taxes and payment of employee benefits
- Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.
- Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
- Prepare reports for upper management.
Required Skill Set
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Math & Statistics or related field.
- 3 years proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll manager
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
- Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
- Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases
- Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills

- Experience in a Fintech/ Financial institution with a relatively large workforce.

Job Description
- We are currently seeking a young, excel-expert data analyst to join our HR team PalmPay Limited. As an Employee Relations Analyst, you will compile and analyze HR data and make recommendations related to hiring and retaining staff. Our HR analysts present reports on their findings to senior management, suggest ways to improve the structure in an organization, and implement and facilitate training initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Utilizes advanced Excel functions to analyze and present data
- Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
- Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
- Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
- Based on metrics and analysis, make recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, to motivate and retain employees, to address staffing issues, and to maintain legal compliance.
- Facilitates implementation of new training, development, recruiting, and other related initiatives.
- May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt.
- Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Math & Statistics or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong data-entry and analytical skills
- Expert Proficient with excel, and/or PowerBI
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, and similar employee management software.
- 1-2 years experience in a similar position
