1). Information Technology Support Officer
Location: Borno
ROLE PURPOSE:
- To provide IT support services to the Maiduguri field office staff and visiting staff from other field/country office(s), regularly reporting relevant activities to the BAY area IT coordinator. S/he will ensure timely resolution of all IT related issues in the Maiduguri office, escalating issues that s/he is not able to resolve to the IT coordinator. S/he will provide all needed IT services to and act as a part of the SCI Nigeria IT team during an operation request.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Information Technology Support officer shall be accountable on the following key areas in Maiduguri field office of Save the Children International program in Nigeria:
Network Management
- Setup Office IT infrastructure, with support from the IT coordinator
- Manage network in Maiduguri field offices
- Troubleshooting, ensuring an effective network connection and maintaining the entire local area network installed at the Maiduguri field office
- Install, troubleshooting and maintain networked devices e.g., printers, scanners, etc.
- Maintain record of the local network, VPN connection and the wide area network installed and terminated in Maiduguri field office
- In consultation with the IT Coordinator, ensure that staff visiting from other field offices/country offices, ERPs and consultants have the necessary IT assistance to enable them carry out their official assignments during their stay
Hardware Support
- Configure and install systems and set up new users.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance/checks and troubleshoot problems with assigned field offices. Ensure all IT hardware equipment and computer accessories/peripherals are maintained effectively
- Ensure all IT issues in Maiduguri field office are resolved in a timely manner.
- Perform IT hardware inventory update as necessary
Telecommunications Management
- Ensure the Maiduguri field office has a functioning voice network (IP PBX). All devices are functioning and the service is cost effective
- Troubleshooting technical problems with mobile subscriptions and IP Phone.
- Ensure radio and satellite equipment is operational. Ensure satellite phones are working and SIM cards are activated at all times
Asset Management
In collaboration with the assets team and the IT coordinator
- Ensure good asset management at the Maiduguri field office through maintenance of an accurate and up to date asset register and inventory tracking system, in close collaboration with the Logistics and Administrative support teams
- Responsible to make sure that all assets (IT and office equipment) are correctly used
- Oversee the issuance and return of assets to/from staff and record all asset movements and disposals of IT equipment
Incident Management
- Providing first level support to Maiduguri field office
- Communicating any service disruptions to users, opportunities and other relevant policies
- Carry out any other tasks required by the IT coordinator
Security and Backup
- Keep the network and all computer systems safe, secure, and virus-free.
- Report any alleged or suspected misuse of IT systems/equipment, lapses of security and major violations of organizational standards to the IT coordinator
- Ensure proper backup of all staff information, files, and folders
Power Backup
- Monitor installation of independent power backup system (solar), for communications equipment in Maiduguri field office
- Supervise regular maintenance of independent power backup system (solar), for communications equipment in Maiduguri field office
Software Management
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office suite
- Working knowledge of power apps/SharePoint
- Working knowledge of programming and software development

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- At least 2 years working in a similar position.
- Proven knowledge of hardware maintenance and ability to solve simple hardware problems; this includes set-up and management of network devices e.g. printers, scanners, etc.
- Solid experience in maintaining, trouble-shooting and administering a Microsoft Windows-based (local area) network
- Solid background maintaining, trouble-shooting and administering a Microsoft Windows server 2008.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 10, and Window 11, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously; have strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people.
- Level of Education – Degree in Computer science, Computer engineering or related disciplines – IT certifications included
- Communication & Interpersonal Skill Level – Excellent

2). Case Management Assistant
Location: Borno
ROLE PURPOSE:
- The Case Management Assistant will provide psychosocial support, basic case management support to UASC, survivors of gender-based violence, CAAG and other children at risk through individual counselling follow-up support, referrals, and dissemination of information on available GBV services to encourage access to services. She/he will in collaboration with the CPIE officer oversee provision of psychosocial /group support, skills building, information sessions and other recreational activities that promotes social support networks and cohesion with boys, men women and girls at the Child Friendly Spaces/safe spaces. He/she will be expected to support on child protection sectoral assessment, project planning and coordination with other actors. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or build capacity of implementing partners on the field.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Facilitate the assessment of the living conditions of children in the camp/communities and participate in the development of appropriate response to the needs of children.
- Facilitate the involvement of children and the community (leaders and parents) in the PSS activities and document the progress made.
- Support (the incentive workers) team leaders and social workers in the monitoring, verification and documentation of cases of children.
- Follow-up the preparation and implementation of case action plan and home visit conducted by the case workers and social workers.
- Assist the child protection officer in facilitating and organizing appropriate care arrangement, and suitable alternative care system with close supervision and attention to the individual needs of children.
- Through working with the child protection committees identify potential foster families for unaccompanied and separated children in collaboration with social workers and community leaders.
- Organize and facilitate positive parenting skills training (Parenting Without Violence Common Approach) weekly sessions.
- Assist the child rights clubs to demonstrate to the community and the concerning bodies about protection concerns that children are facing while living in the camp and promote the participation of children in all matters affecting their lives.
- Organize and lead psychosocial support activities at Child friendly Spaces
- Work closely with the child protection officer in the celebration of international events days and other awareness raising sessions
- Assist and participate in the preparation of budget, work and spending plans, and PR tracking to monitor the proper utilization of the budget and timely implementation of activities.
- Adhere and fully abide by the child protection code of conduct.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
- With support from the Coordinator, supervise project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against individual performance management work plans).
- With support from the lead Coordinator and/or other senior programme staff, prepare and review timely monthly reports submitted by partners and SCI Staff.
- Work with the MEAL plan to ensure links to reporting requirements where possible, refer the MEAL framework to build an evidence-base for child protection programming interventions.
- With support from the CRM/Accountability Officer put in place accountability activities for your project, ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered in project design.
- Ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings and the Sphere standard
- Ensure survivors of gender based violence are timely identified and provided counselling and other appropriate response services.
- Ensure relevant referral forms are in place, implemented accordingly and coordinate monthly meetings including, parent’s forum and child protection committee
- Provide essential psychosocial first aid support to children and adults when needed and ensure partner staff are supervised regularly to ensure activities are carried out in line with minimum standard guidelines.
- Consistently update the referral pathway of project locations
Capacity Building:
- Provide capacity to implementing partners that have less CPiE experience
- Representation & Advocacy & Organisational Learning:
- With support from the Lead Child Protection Coordinator and/or other senior programme staff, assist in advocacy activities that target decision-makers in-country.
- In collaboration with the Humanitarian Technical Unit and Child Protection team, feed in learning, experiences and evidence to relevant global advocacy objectives.
- Contribute to communications and media work as required.
General:
- Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Other ad hoc tasks as requested by Line Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Criteria
- University degree or equivalent in Social work, Social Science, development studies or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
- Minimum 1year post NYSC work experience in GBV and child Protection work, supervision, community mobilisation and distributions and solid understanding of the actual Nigeria Emergency context.
- Proven ability to supervise a CP project with holistic approach and integrated to child protection right
- Fluent in English
- Working knowledge of Hausa and/or Kanuri
- Computer literate
Desirable Criteria
- Female with high level of personal integrity, commitment and professional responsibility with GBV exigencies.
- Excellent communication skills,
- Team player with strong leadership skills
- Mature personality with life experience is an advantage
- Able to be a self-started and work in challenging contexts and fragile environment.
