1). Investment and Trade Facilitation Lead
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Overview
- Welcome2Africa International is seeking a dynamic and experienced Investment and Trade Lead to oversee and manage our investment, trade, and program initiatives.
- The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will play a crucial role in facilitating investments and trade across our sector focus areas, including Agriculture, Maritime, Solid Mineral, and Energy.
Responsibilities
Investments and Trade:
- Coordinate and oversee Investment and Trade analysts to achieve W2A’s investment and trade objectives.
- Organize and develop investment facilitation activities aimed at promoting investments and trade.
- Develop and engage an investor network/club.
- Develop viable portfolios in Agribusiness, Maritime, Solid Mineral, and Energy sectors.
- Establish an off-taker network across key commodities.
- Facilitate investments and trade by managing all aspects of the deal process, including due diligence, advisor management, site visits, expert interviews, market opportunity assessment, financial forecasting, and portfolio diversification.
- Partner with government agencies, donor organizations, private firms, international organizations, and other stakeholders interested in trade and investment in Africa.
- Serve as the key point of contact for the investment community, managing investor relations, developing a robust investor relations strategy, and enhancing investor confidence in the company’s vision.
- Identify potential investment projects and match them with investors to facilitate partnerships aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Assess the feasibility and viability of investment opportunities through detailed financial analysis and risk evaluation.
Programs:
- Oversee the development of programs to ensure that investment and trade facilitation objectives are achieved.
Growth and General:
- Collaborate with the research department to conduct thorough research on international markets, identifying potential investment and trade opportunities.
- Work with the business development and communications departments to ensure that W2A’s communication materials support our investment and trade endeavors.
- Collaborate with the business development department on consultancy initiatives.
- Support the overall development of W2A.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in investment and trade facilitation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
- Familiarity with investment principles, market analysis, and sector-specific regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and financial software.
- Experience in event promotion and management.
- Strong decision-making abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams.

2). Head of Finance and Strategy

Job Summary
- The Head of Finance and Strategy assumes a pivotal role in spearheading the financial and strategic direction of the organization.
- This leadership position is responsible for establishing and overseeing the finance department from inception, emphasizing business development, meticulous accounting, comprehensive financial forecasting, and strategic planning analysis to optimize profit margins and mitigate financial risks.
- The ideal candidate must have experience in investment banking and be familiar with accounting software, especially Zoho Books.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and manage all financial activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and negotiations.
- Provide expert counsel on both long and short-term business and financial planning, aligning strategies with organizational objectives.
Business Development and Growth:
- Offer commercial insight and leadership, surpassing business plan targets by implementing financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Identify and implement avenues for financial enhancement across the organization.
Financial Analysis and Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial data, crafting and proposing intricate financial models to support decision-making.
- Generate reports containing critical metrics, financial results, variance analysis, and other relevant insights on a regular basis.
Establishment of Policies and Procedures:
- Guide the development and enforcement of robust financial policies and procedures to streamline operations and ensure compliance.
Strategic Decision Support:
- Analyze trends and forecasts, recommending actionable insights to optimize operational efficiencies and maximize profitability.
- Conduct market research, data mining, and business intelligence activities to facilitate informed decision-making on pricing, bonuses, and other pertinent aspects.
Building and Leading Finance Department:
- Oversee the creation and management of a dynamic finance department from scratch, recruiting and leading a high-performing team.
Fundraising and Revenue Generation:
- Support fundraising initiatives and provide valuable recommendations to enhance revenue generation based on historical and market insights.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, presenting findings and recommendations to the organization.
Job Requirements
Experience and Education:
- 6+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on strategic planning and analysis.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- Experience in investment banking is essential.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software especially such as QuickBooks, Tableau, Power BI, and especially Zoho Books.
- Advanced Microsoft Suite skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
