  • Navitas is seeking to employ a West Africa Admin and Compliance Assistant to join our Nigerian team (Hybrid) on a 2-Year Contract.
  • The West Africa Admin and Compliance Assistance (WAACA) role is to enhance and increase the University of Portsmouth’s international profile, through the timely processing of quality applicants whilst focusing on increased conversion.
  • The appointee will be a member of the University of Portsmouth Global (UoP Global) team based in the Navitas Nigeria Office, in Lagos. UoP Global staff are responsible for the promotion of the University and encouraging the best international students to study at the university.
  • Assisting the West Africa Regional Manager, the post holder will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders in the student applicant journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact for application processing and forward complete assessment to Global Admissions for decisions, after ensuring that process is followed and complete.
  • Conduct Credibility interviews for the applicants as per the tasks allotted by Global Admissions Team and West Africa Regional Manager.
  • To share the relevant information through the transcripts and further recommendations on the outcome.
  • Liaising with partner agents on specific student cases.
  • Provide regular reports on the applicant and enquirer feedback and conversion outcomes to the Senior Global Officer (Sub-Saharan Africa).
  • Keeping up to date with UoP courses, compliance, and application processes.
  • Assist West Africa Team in obtaining any missing/additional documents from students and agents mandatory for assessment so that the offer letter can be issued in a timely manner.
  • Organise and support recruitment-focused events like offer-holder briefings and pre-departure events by booking venue(s), sending invitations, and attending events across Nigeria.
  • Support promotional campaigns such as the promotion of scholarships to offer-holders through the distribution of materials to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research by gathering contact information for high school counselors and competitor institution entry requirements from Nigeria and Ghana. Source, and analyze provide West African market data.
  • Respond to all email inquiries within 24 hours of receiving them (excluding holidays/weekends)
  • Participate in the activities of the wider University and carry out other duties or projects.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Tertiary degree level qualification.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in customer services, administration, admissions, or compliance.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an internationally diversified team.
  • Understanding of the opportunities and challenges affecting the global higher education market.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people, across levels and cultures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Highly motivated, working to, and exceeding, targets.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize demanding workloads and meet deadlines in a pressurized environment.
  • Confidence in decision-making.
  • Good IT skills, with the ability to produce reports based on understanding and manipulation of complex statistical data, and familiarity with word processing and database packages, email, and web browsers.

Desirable Skills:

  • Work experience in an educational setting, preferably international student recruitment.
  • Working knowledge of a CRM system such as Salesforce or SITS.
  • Understanding of international higher education compliance policies.
  • Understanding of issues related to the admission of overseas students.
  • Experience of living, working, or studying overseas.
