Chemical and Allied Products Plc, a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, is AkzoNobel's technology licensee in Nigeria (ICI was bought by AkzoNobel, the world's largest paint maker, in 2008). CAP Plc arose from the world-renowned British multinational Imperial Chemical Industries Plc, which established its Nigerian activities in 1957 under the name ICI Exports Limited. In 1965, ICI Exports Limited changed its name to ICI Nigeria Limited, and in 1968, the paints firm was absorbed.
