1). Network Optimization Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Achieve and maintain a high-quality level of the 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G Radio Network Voice and Data Services.
  • Ensure high quality performance on all technical activities, and the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide effective support and continually seeking for quality improvements within the Mobile Network Optimization project – target is for Airtel to achieve and maintain first position across all BM KPIs.

Job Responsibilities
Ensure optimization of Network:

  • Propose indicators for radio performance monitoring towards maintaining best radio voice and data services qualities.
  • Review system alarms and recommend solution when needed, track implementation and impact benchmarking.
  • Propose preventive and/or corrective actions for the provisioning of acceptable QoS for voice and data services.
  • Monitor & analyze the GSM, WCDMA/HSDPA, LTE and 5G Radio Network Statistics on daily basis.
  • Achieve & maintain the Radio Network Performance as per the contracted KPIs (Accessibility, Retainability, Mobility & Service Integrity).
  • Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the IRAT Handover, Soft Handover, Location Update, Paging, CSSR, RRC Connection & RAB Establishment Success rate in his designated area for all Voice, Video Packet & High Speed, issuing capacity requests whenever needed.
  • Responsible for Inconsistencies Checks, Packet Throughput, Parameter changes & Physical changes.
  • Responsible for testing the radio performance for the newly integrated sites.
  • Discuss the frequency & Scrambling Code retunes requests in his designated areas with his Team Lead.
  • Responsible for the drive test analysis and taking the necessary actions to improve the performance of his area.
  • Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.
  • Perform Radio Network Surveys, i.e. visit possible sites in order to judge if they are suitable from a radio network point of view (Hardware & Location).
  • Follow-up and ensures the existence of sufficient capacity in the radio network (including on the BSC-BTS and the air interfaces).
  • Researches and implements solutions for continuous service improvement in respect to parameter settings and configuration.
  • Investigates and recommends proper solutions for customer complaints; validates proposed solutions related to parameter modification on the radio network.
  • Validates the recommended radio parameters and configuration provided by the MS Team.
  • Recommend measurement tools for the radio, Abis and A interfaces and related post processing tools.
  • Propose and verifies the implementation of optimal solutions in order to improve operational efficiency of the unit.
  • Follow-up on the corrective actions based on the internal reports of coverage analysis.
  • Follow-up on the general Radio access technology trends relating to radio optimization activities.
  • Strong background of LTE optimization in multi-layered setup.
  • Good Presentation skills and should be thorough in handling large data.

Educational Qualifications & Required Experience

  • Relevant University Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years optimization & Planning experience, primarily in Optimization of 2G, 3G & 4G.
  • Minimum of 4 years with vendors (Huawei, ZTE and Nokia) experience or well-known operators in telecommunication or related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the field of 2G/3G/4G radio communication and optimization.
  • Strong 5G Optimization experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge in performance management, DB parameters and features.
  • Ready to work extra hours during rush periods.
  • Maintains professional relationships with all departments.
  • Ensures confidentiality of information.

2). Lead – Digital, Media & Brand Sponsorships

Location: Lagos
Job Schedule: Full time

Job Purpose

  • Go to Market, lead end to end the creative development, planning and execution of all Digital Brand and Communication initiatives for Airtel Brand within the framework of an agreed strategy, meeting operational targets for consumer engagement, TOMA, revenues, profitability and increased brand equity; also lead acquisition and leveraging of all brand sponsorships, assets, properties and brand ambassadors to deliver on key brand benefits, build brand equity and achieve maximum return on investment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop overall brand media strategy and create rationale for quarterly media spend to keep brand.
  • Review of Media strategy and execution plan for campaign plans based on media behavioral patterns and audience spread to reach the right target audience with detailed attention to: Budget allocation by zones/regions, Media selection rationales based on product/service objectives/target consumers.
  • Set campaign objective assessment parameters based on GRPs, cost per thousand and SOV.
  • Create and execute innovative media ideas for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage campaigns across a variety of technology platforms, inventory sources, and ad formats, leveraging both internal and external opportunities.
  • Provide an insights-based mapping of current path-to-purchase, inclusive of the role of media, influencers & digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain a test and learn agenda built to pilot new content formats, ad technologies, partners, and platforms.
  • Development of Airtel Brand Digital Strategy, governing all communications (for master brand and sub brands) and creative/advertising developments in a manner that will reinforce the key brand benefits, awareness and drive consumers engagement and action.
  • Drive consumer engagement strategy using content and engagement strategy. Create periodic digital activations that leverage follower’s areas of interest.
  • Champion strategy and approach to sponsorship (properties, icons and assets) for the entire Airtel Nigeria business inclusive of regional strategies.
  • Evaluate current and future potential for sponsorship initiatives and build leveraging strategy around the platforms.
  • Execute the strategy guidelines and Provide governance and support to the regions for events and sponsorship priorities per region.
  • Lead the management of agencies; Digital creative, Media agencies, Monitoring Agencies and ensure outstanding output and good turnaround time on projects.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance on All advertising guidelines s and keep Airtel on the good side of the related regulatory bodies.

Education & Experience

  • A recognized University Degree.
  • Media (Traditional & Digital) experience, Sponsorship & Brand Management experience (No less than 8 years).
  • Project Management qualification will be an advantage.
  • Understanding of the rudiments of Brand Management and execution.
  • Use of media, brand activation, digital campaign.
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Master in business administration would be preferred additional qualification dependent on experience.
